AndroidTV - How to change the Launcher


To use a phone launcher
- You must root with Magisk
You need to install Magisk from Unlinked App Store(Code StationPC) or from Github
Then patch the boot image and flash it through Developer Options - Flash Image - to the boot partition, the patched boot.img stored in the Downloads folder.

To use one of the TV launchers, these steps aren't neccessary.


Choose a launcher from Unlinked App Store(Code Stationpc)



Enable Developer Options
Go to Device Preferences - About - Click 7 times on Build info


Now you need to install widget support
Go to Developer Options then Run ShellScript





Choose
- Fix Widget Support
- Tablet DPI (Only if using a phone launcher like Lawnchair, Omega, Microsoft launcher)

After opening the new phone launcher disable ATV Launcher
This is needed to prevent the home button switching back to the Google TV Launcher
If wanting to use the Google TV Launcher again, run enable ATV Launcher again and ATV DPI.



Choose a Wallpaper
Long press on the desktop and choose Google Wallpaper





Install QuickSwitch
It is required to have a recent apps menu by double tapping the home button on your remote.
Lawnchair, Omega launcher have their own recent apps you can switch too.
If you use a different phone launcher, you can still use Lawnchair or Omega recent apps menu in QuickSwich but just shouldn't press the back button in the recent apps otherwise it will switch to those launchers.




It will show the recent apps menus you can use for supported launchers

Wallpaper set, Weather widget added, icon shortcuts added






Only latest Station P2 firmware support so far.
Will upload Station M2 support later today.
